Rules and Regulations
  1. Every college team should be accompanied by two staff members, team manager.
  2. Every participant should carry his/her college identity card and produce the same on demand at the time of registration.
  3. The decision of the judges will be final.
  4. Any discrepancy in tabulation, totalling, coding, decoding, and certification can be verified on request in writing.
  5. The team manager is responsible for the discipline and the behaviour of the members of his/her college
  6. The participants should adhere to the rules and conditions of the competitions read out at the time of competition. Any violation may lead to the cancellation of the participation.
  7. The organisers reserve the right to change the timing and venue of any event notified due to unavoidable circumstances.
  8. Educational and career guidance sessions will be organised during the festival for giving exposure to students to opportunities in various fields. The participants are expected to attend these sessions. This is being done under the banner of “Pragati”, a career guidance initiative of the District administration. Stalls and exhibitions are being arranged by various training institutions and by the Dept of Employment and Training. The Students of all the colleges and grades may be advised to attend these sessions.
  9. There will be an overall championship trophy and runners up trophy, which would be awarded to the institution which achieve maximum prizes.
  10. Criterion for judging the overall championship trophy would be as follows.

EVENT DETAILS
1. Essay (Eng, Kan, Hindi, Urdu)
  1. Each institution can send four participants (one student each in each of the languages).
  2. The competition will commence at 9 am on the first day before the inauguration.
  3. The subject for the essay competition will be given at the venue.
  4. The time duration is one hour.
  5. Separate prizes will be given for each language.
2. Debate (English, Kannada, Hindi, Urdu)
  1. Each institution can send two participants. One should speak for the topic and the other against the topic.
  2. Each participant has to speak for five minutes.
  3. The topic will be given at the time of registration.
  4. Separate prizes will be given for each language.
3. Extempore (Eng, Kan, Hindi, Urdu)
  1. Each institution can send one participant.
  2. The time duration is five minutes.
  3. The topic will be given at the time of commencement of the competition.
  4. The medium of expression can be chosen by the participant from among the above languages.
4. Versification; composing poetry (Eng, Kan, Hindi, Urdu)
  1. Each institution can send one participant.
  2. The time duration is one hour.
  3. The topic will be given at the time of commencement of the competition.
  4. The medium of expression can be chosen by the participant from among the above languages.
5. Group Discussion
  1. Each institution can send one participant.
  2. The time duration is fifteen minutes. This may be altered depending upon the number of participants.
  3. The topic will be given at the time of commencement of the competition.
  4. The competition will be conducted in two rounds; prelims and mains.
6. Ad-Zap competition (Eng, Kan, Hindi)
  1. Each institution shall send one participants to the competition.
  2. This competition assesses the creativity and the marketing skills of the students. In this competition a product will be given to participant where he/she will make an advertisement on the given particular product.
  3. The competition will be conducted in two rounds prelims and mains
  4. The students’ has to prepare the adv in the prelim round. The prelims will be an off-stage round.
  5. The time duration is one hour for prelims.
  6. The accessory materials should be brought by the participants themselves.
  7. In the main round, the qualified candidates have to present a separate ad for the product. They have to answer the queries of the panellists on the products they are marketing. No written materials need to be prepared in this round.
  8. The medium of expression can be chosen from any of the above languages.
7. Quiz competition
  1. Each institution can send two participants.
  2. The competition will be conducted in two rounds; prelims and mains.
  3. Prelims will be a written round, the time duration is 40 minutes
  4. The decisions of the quiz master will be final and they should be challenged.
1. Smile Contest
  1. Each institution can send one participant to this event.
  2. The preliminary contest will be a written test.
  3. The mains will be on the stage and held in different rounds.
  4. This is a launch-pad to enhance confidence and courage of the participants to think beyond the horizon and be a face in the crowd.
  5. The organisers will arrange an orientation for the finalists.
  6. There will be two separate prizes ie; Smile of the Year (Male) and Smile of the Year (Female)
  7. The organisers reserve the discretion to amend or cancel any of the conditions or the components of the contest
  8. The contestants will be judged through the following rounds.
  • Moo Dikhai Round – Introduction of the finalists
  • Sringar Round - featuring the make up and its shades
  • Look smart Round - A costume wear round where the contestant has choice to be decked up smart with their choice dress wear.
  • Smile Round The smiles of the contestants is the main feature in this round
  • Prathibha Round Every contestant will be given one minute to exhibit his/her talent.
  • Sawal-Jawab Round The contestants will be asking questions to their fellow contestants
  • Meri Pasand Round Each contestant has to choose a judge among the panellists and answer their questions.
  • 2. Solo Singing (Classical)
    1. Each institution can send one student.
    2. Film songs are not allowed
    3. The time duration is10 minutes.
    4. Accompanist are allowed
    3. Solo Singing (Non-classical)
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. Film songs are not allowed
    3. The time duration is five minutes.
    4. Accompanist are allowed
    4. Solo dance (classical)
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. Dance featured in films/albums is not allowed
    3. The time duration is ten minutes.
    4. Accompanist are allowed
    5. Solo dance (Non- Classical)
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. Film/album dances are allowed
    3. The time duration is five minutes.
    4. Accompanist are allowed
    6. Instrumental Music Solo (Wind, String, Percussion)
    1. Each institution can send one participant. The candidate can participant in either of the three. This should be indicated in the entry form separately.
    2. The time duration is five minutes.
    3. Accompanist are not allowed
    7. Poem Recitation
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. The participants can either recite poems written by themselves by any other poets.
    3. The time duration is five minutes.
    4. The poems can be of Hindi, Kannada or English.
    8. Fancy Dress
    1. Each institution can send one.
    2. The participants should spend at least one minute on the stage so that their performance can be properly assessed
    9. Folk Dance (Group)
    1. The team for the event from one institution shall not exceed ten participants.
    2. Film/album songs are not allowed
    3. The time duration is ten minutes.
    4. Cassette/CD’s are permitted.
    5. Accompanists are allowed.
    10. Group Song (Patriotic Songs only)
    1. Each institution can send one team which shall not exceed eight participants.
    2. Film/album dances are not allowed
    3. The time duration is ten minutes.
    4. Accompanist are allowed
    11. Qawali
    1. Each institution can send one team which shall not exceed eight participants.
    2. The time duration is ten minutes.
    3. Accompanists are allowed.
    4. Cassettes/CDs are not allowed.
    12. Mime
    1. Each institution can send one team which shall not exceed ten participants.
    2. The time duration is ten minutes.
    3. Cassettes/CDs are permitted.
    4. Accompanists are allowed.
    13. Drama
    1. Each institution can send one team which shall not exceed eight participants.
    2. The time duration is 25 minutes.
    3. Cassettes/CD’s are permitted.
    4. Accompanists are allowed.
    5. The medium of expression should be either in Kannada or Hindi.
    14. Rangoli
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. The time duration is one hour.
    3. The materials required for preparing Rangoli have to be brought by the candidates themselves.
    15. Painting
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. The time duration is one hour.
    3. All the needed materials (colours, brushes) should be brought by the participants themselves.
    4. Drawing sheet will be provided by the organisers at the venue.
    16. Collage
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. The time duration is one hour.
    3. The materials required for preparing Rangoli have to be brought by the participants themselves.
    4. The drawing sheet will be provided by the organisers.
    17. Photography
    1. Each institution can send one participant.
    2. This competition is aimed at encouraging the photographic skills of the students. The theme of the competition will be the event itself. The participants have to submit copies of the photographs of the event they have taken in print in 8’ X 10’.
    3. Time for entry will be the 11:30 am of the last day of the event.
